River “Hemsila”: Zpey’s Trout headquarter

I’m writing these words around June 20th and the Mayflies have been hatching in river “Hemsila” for almost three weeks already. The trout have also registered this and have been feasting on emergers and duns for the same amount of time. Beautiful fish up to three kilos have been kissed on the head and returned to the river and still the best part of the season hasn’t started. When the Mayfly Ephemera Aurivilli starts hatching, even the big ones go bananas and the first reports of airborne Aurivillis are already in.
Tor Grøthe and Jarle Strandberg, merited competition fly fishers and authorized fly casting instructors, are Zpey Systems men in Hemsedal, the beautiful mountain valley in southern Norway through which the river “Hemsila” runs. On his farm, Tor has built three houses /cottages based on traditional Norwegian architecture. In these idyllic surroundings fly fishers can enjoy themselves between the excursions to the river. The standard is good, including both well equipped kitchens and washing machines.
